Police: Masked man using money to lure kids into car

EAGLE LAKE, Minn. - Police in a Mankato suburb are warning parents about a masked man who may be using money in an attempt to lure children into his vehicle.

Police in Eagle Lake say, on Wednesday, they received a report of a man that threw a handful of coins in front of a group of four kids at the Eagle Lake Firehall.

Two of the students reported seeing the same man in the same vehicle Thursday morning. One student reported the vehicle stopped, the man dropped cash, then ordered the student to get into his vehicle.

The witness reported the man was wearing a suit and tie and a mask. He's possibly a white man with blonde hair. He was driving a dark red, four-door car, either Toyota or Honda, with rust on the side and back. The license plate could be from Texas, possibly starting with GHX.

Anyone who sees the man or vehicle described should call the Eagle Lake Police Department at (507) 257-3110.

Eagle Lake is located just east of Mankato.
