Report: Toby Gerhart agrees to deal with Jaguars

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - As expected, Adrian Peterson's backup appears to have gotten his chance to be a featured back in the NFL, according to an ESPN report.

Gerhart will likely replace free agent Maurice Jones-Drew for the Jaguars. Gerhart was drafted in 2010 by the Minnesota Vikings. He played in 61 games, rushing for 1,305 yards and five touchdowns primarily as Peterson's backup.

His 4.7 yards per carry average is a good one, but he has only gotten 276 carries over four years of action.

Terms of the deal have not yet been reported.
