ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Como Park and Conservatory will be aglow with lanterns in celebration of Japanese culture this weekend.
The 16th Annual Como Park Japanese Lantern Lighting Festival takes place Sunday Aug. 18 at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in Como Park.
The family-friendly event includes bonsai, martial arts, Ikebana, singing, dancing, drumming, food, and many more aspects of Japanese culture.
There will also be live music at the Charlotte Patridge Ordway Japanese Garden.
The Twin Cities based drumming group Mu Daiko will perform their pounding rhythms at the festival.
The festival will run from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the lantern lighting beginning at dusk.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages three to 12 and seniors ages 65 plus.
