EDINA, Minn. -- The Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MOCA) will be hosting the HOM Silent No More Walk/Run for Ovarian Cancer Saturday at Edina's Roseland Park.
The event is scheduled appropriately at the beginning of September, which is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and will be promoting the Tie It Teal awareness campaign. To help spread the word MOCA will be providing teal shoelaces to youth sports teams throughout the state during the month.
The annual events help to raise funds for MOCA, a non-profit organization funding ovarian cancer research.
More than 4,000 participants are expected to take part on Saturday in teams ranging from three to 100. HOM Furniture is the new title sponsor of the event and has rallied to help increase awareness of MOCA.
Participants can register for the event same-day beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. The 5k run will begin at 9:15 a.m. and the 2k walk at 9:45 a.m.
Youth can also register to participate in a 1k Kids Fun Run.
