BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- On Saturday, March 5, hundreds of fun-loving and charity-minded "bed racers" will gather at Buck Hill to raise awareness and funds for Bridging.

Teams of four are invited to race down Buck Hill's tubing hill atop specially covered, authentic, queen-sized bed mattresses. Participants are encouraged to raise pledges for Bridging, Inc. and dress creatively to compete in the Cities 97 Costume Contest.

Registration begins at 3 p.m. and the cost is $175; Racing begins at 5 p.m.

A post-race concert featuring "American Idol" Season 9 runner-up Crystal Bowersox, Augustana, and The Chris Hawkey Band, will begin at 7 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded to top teams in the Subway Bedrace, Cities 97 Costume Contest, and the "Bucks for Bridging" fundraising efforts.

One hundred percent of registration fees and fundraising efforts benefit Bridging, Inc., a Bloomington-based non-profit organization that supports over 5,000 families transitioning out of homelessness and poverty every year. By providing furniture and household goods to families in need, Bridging gives hope to thousands of people for a brighter future filled with new beginnings.
