GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- Being a parent can be tough. You may not always know the right answer but there are plenty of tools out there that can help parents navigate through parenthood. Mayo Clinic's Guide to Your Baby's First Year is just one tool aimed at helping parents care for their new infant.

The book includes information about the essentials of what parents should expect during their baby's first year of life, along with answers to every new parent's questions about growth and development, immunizations, common illnesses and concerns, how to bond and comfort the baby, as well as many other important topics.

Co-editor Dr. Walter Cook is a father of three and knew it was essential to provide current, detailed information from trusted Mayo Clinic pediatricians for all the parents out there.

The book includes a section in the book for dads and partners, siblings, grandparents, and single parents. Some other unique features: the book has special sections for delayed development, down syndrome, caring for multiples, and adoption.
