MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis Public Schools helped families kick off summer with free books and food Tuesday.
The school district gave away 20,000 books at four different sites across the city as part of its Summer Strong 2012 program.
Minneapolis Public Schools will also provide free meals to children 17 and under until August 17.
