STEARNS COUNTY, Minn. - The Minnesota State Patrol is looking for possible witnesses to a fatal crash last weekend that killed a 19-month-old boy.
The State Patrol says the crash happened around 2:30 p.m. last Saturday, May 13 on Highway 23 at County Road 71 in Stearns County.
According to the incident report, a 2016 Dodge Caravan was crossing Highway 23 when it was struck by a Volvo tractor truck that was traveling east on the highway.
The 1-year-old boy was killed in the crash. The 23-year-old driver of the Dodge Caravan suffered non-life threatening injuries and an additional passenger, a 3-year-old girl, was not injured. According to the State Patrol, all three victims are from Cold Spring.
According to a report from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, the boy died of blunt force head and neck injuries.
The 61-year-old driver of the Volvo was not injured. Alcohol was not involved, according to the State Patrol.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to all Sgt. Aaron Dix at 320-223-6672.
