EAGAN, Minn. -- A school social studies project has turned into an effort to battle domestic violence.
A student who was tutored by domestic abuse victim Anarae Schunk organized a bowling fundraiser Sunday for her class project.
Schunk's body was found in a roadside ditch near Lonsdale on Sept. 30.
A $10 minimum donation includes unlimited bowling for two hours plus shoe rental. Bowlers of all ages are welcome, and are asked to wear purple in honor of domestic abuse awareness.
Proceeds from the event at Cedarvale Lanes in Eagan will benefit Cornerstone, a domestic abuse prevention organization.
