FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - The Minnesota State Fair has filled out its Grandstand lineup, announcing Tuesday that county music giant Toby Keith will play the fair on opening night.
Tickets for the show, set for Thursday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m., are $59 and $49. They go on sale at 11 a.m. June 23.
Keith has forged a reputation as a straight speaking everyman from Oklahoma. Just last Saturday he played a 90 minute set at the Winstock Music Festival in Winstead, MN, despite a driving rain and wind. He is known for hits like "Should've Been a Cowboy," "Red Solo Cup," "Beer for my horses" and "Made in America."
His albums have sold more than 38 million copies, ranking him among the top-selling all-genre artists on Billboard's Top 200 Artists of the Decade.
Toby Keith maintains a steady presence in the Twin Cities, mostly do to his partnership in the I Love This Bar and Grill chain, one of which is located in St. Louis Park's West End.
