Vikings' Carlson put on injured reserve

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Minnesota Vikings Tight End John Carlson, of Litchfield, has been placed on the injured reserve list after suffering a concussion against Baltimore.

Carlson told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune this week that he needs to confer with his family this offseason to determine whether it makes sense for him to keep playing football.

Carlson wouldn't say exactly how many concussions he has suffered since he started playing football, but he has had at least three since 2011.

Carlson has caught 32 passes this season for 344 yards with one touchdown.

Carlson restructured his contract this spring. He signed a five-year, $25 million contract in March 2012.
