Volunteers needed for MN Special Olympics

MINNEAPOLIS - Special Olympics Minnesota is looking for volunteers to help with its summer games.

The 2017 Summer Games will take place June 22-24 in Apple Valley. Volunteers are needed to help with registration, awards, facilitating games and more.

Volunteers need to be at least 15 years old, but younger kids who want to participate can be on a cheer team.

All volunteers will receive T-shirts, and cheer team members get souvenir pom-poms.

The Summer Games will be held at Eastview High School, 6200 140th Street West, in Apple Valley.

Competitions begin at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 22, with track and field. Friday, June 23, games will include track and field, tennis and gymnastics. On Saturday, June 24, all the competitions will take place including track and field, volleyball, tennis and gymnastics.
