'We Day' coming to MN to showcase volunteering

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Thousands of students from across Minnesota will come together at the Xcel Energy Center in October for thefirst-ever"We Day Minnesota."

It's a small part of anational effort to create positive change in the world through volunteering.

Director of "We Day Minnesota", David Stillman, was joined by inspirational speaker, Spencer West, on KARE 11 Sunrise to talk about what's in store at this year's event.

The two announced that Martin Luther King III will be among this year's speakers.

The rest of the line-up will be announced on KARE 11 Sunrise on September 12.

Instead of buying tickets, students have to earn their way to "We Day" through their service.

Volunteers are still needed for this year's event and you can do that by registering online.
