Wild, off-road chase ends with 1 in custody

Twin Cities Chase Ends in Inver Grove Heights

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. - One man is in the Hennepin County Jail following a wild, off-road police chase that ended in Inver Grove Heights.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday, Minneapolis Police say they received a report of someone witnessing a possible abduction and stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Home Depot on Stinson Boulevard.

About 15 minutes later, officers located the vehicle involved near Taylor Street NE and 30th Ave. That's where the chase began. The suspect eventually made his way to St. Paul, then south on Highway 52 before rolling the vehicle near the parking lot of Inverhills Church in Inver Grove Heights.

Police say both the man and the woman received minor injuries.

Minneapolis Police tell KARE 11 the vehicle was stolen out of North Dakota. Investigators say the man and woman are in a relationship but the woman says she was taken against her will, therefore, police are treating the case as an abduction.

Charges have yet to be filed in the case.
