GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - When cooks start listing off their favorite ingredients for the perfect pie crust recipe Olive Oil isn't usually on the list.
However, the use of Olive Oil might be the secret ingredient to the "best-ever" pie crust.
Susan Hanegan Burdorf from Gourmet Oil and Vinegar in St. Louis Park joined KARE 11 News @ 4 with her easy recipe featuring Olive Oil.
Olive Oil Pie Crust-
1/3c Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4c water
1c unbleached flour
2tsp baking powder
1/2t salt
Put oil and water in a medium saucepan and bring to boil. Add dry ingredients and stir quickly until mixture forms a ball. Place in pie plate and press to form crust. Fill with your favorite pumpkin pie recipe and bake according to recipe time.

Next Day Turkey Sandwiches
(Serves 3 on 6" baguettes)
Slices of left over turkey
3 Single serving size baguettes
3 oz cream cheese
1 T Herb de Provence Olive Oil
1 can (16 oz) Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce
3 T Raspberry Balsamic
Red Onion slices
Lettuce
Toast baguette. Combine Olive Oil with cream cheese and spread over bottom half of baguette. Arrange slices of turkey over cream cheese, add slices of Red Onion. Combine Cranberry Sauce with Raspberry Balsamic, stir until mixed well. Drizzle Cranberry Sauce over Turkey to taste. Top with lettuce and enjoy!
*Add chopped walnuts to any remaining cranberry sauce mixture and use over your toast or bagel for breakfast
