MINNEAPOLIS - A significant plunge in the mercury has allowed the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) to re-open dozens of outdoor skating rinks that had been shut down last week.

Steady rain and warmer temps eroded ice quality to the point that the MPRB had no choice but to close all 47 rinks across Minneapolis.

With colder temps over the weekend and the hard work of crews that flood, the rinks are again open for public use.

The daily status of each of the MPRB's rinks at city 22 parks can be viewed online throughout the season on the board's website.
