DETROIT LAKES, Minn. - The Minnesota Department of Transportation says visibility in west-central Minnesota is greatly reduced due to strong winds and blowing snow.
At times, MnDOT says, drivers may face white-out conditions. They are asking drivers to check road conditions at www.511mn.org before traveling, and to use caution while on the roads.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says they are also experiencing similar visibility problems and they have already responded to numerous crashes and reports of vehicles in the ditch.
Douglas County Sheriff Troy Wolbersen is urging motorists to use caution and allow for extra travel time.
