SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn. - Three hundred of the state's smartest students competed in the annual Minnesota State High School Mathematics League Math Bowl on Monday.

The competition doesn't get the attention that other March tournaments get, but the tension and the excitement mirror any action on the court or the ice.

Roy Zhao, of Wayzata High School, won this year's Math Bowl. It's his second win in two years.
