MINNEAPOLIS - Taylor Reiss scored 30 points to lead Minneota to a 61-51 win over Ada-Borup and its first Class 1A girls' basketball state championship Saturday.

Reiss, who scored 22 in the Vikings' semifinal win over Bethlehem Academy, all but put the game away during a key exchange late in the game. She grabbed a rebound and scored on the put-back, then hit a pair of free throws to give Minneota a 54-47 lead with 1:22 left. The Vikings (30-2), who stretched their winning streak to 17, had played in the last two state tournaments but never reached the final. Ada-Borup (28-4) was led by Megan Kolness with 12 points, while Heidi Eggen added 11. Monica Vega, who scored 18 in the Cougars' semifinal win over Win-E-Mac, was held to nine points.
