MAPLEWOOD, Minn. - An underwater search at Maplewood's Keller Lake did not turn up the body of Kira Trevino.

Dive crews from the St. Paul Police Department and the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office spent Tuesday searching for clues or Trevino's body.

St. Paul Police say officers were following up on leads after a weekend tip. A tipster told police that two men were struggling and dragging something in Keller Park the night the 30-year-old disappeared.

A subsequent search led to the discovery of a so-called "item of interest."

Search and rescue dogs hit on an area twice in recent days, leading underwater recovery teams to the Keller Lake site.

The Ramsey County dive team first used a remote sonar and underwater video unit, then sent divers under the water. There search area spanned a radius of 80 to 90 feet. They were looking for Kira in water that is 4 to 6 feet deep, and visibility is described as being about five feet

Pictures from Sky 11 showed a dive team of about 11 officers out on the ice.

Dive teams were being sent in for 20 minutes at a time. They were on a tether, searching in wide circles for clues.

Trevino's husband Jeffery is being held in the Ramsey County Jail, charged with second degree murder. Although no body has been found, investigators recovered many pieces of blood evidence from the Trevino home, enough to make prosecutors confident they can earn a conviction.
