PLYMOUTH, Minn. - Some fast food employees in the west metro are regrouping Wednesday after a harrowing night spent at the hands of a group of armed robbers.
Plymouth Police responded to an alarms at the McDonald's near the junction of Highway 55 and Interstate 494 just before 3:30 a.m. Once there they found employees who told them a group of three or four male suspects entered the restaurant, with two of them holding handguns.
The suspects forced all employees in back and told them to get in the walk-in freezer before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Investigators say suspect descriptions are conflicting; They are trying to sort them out with witnesses to help in the search for those responsible.
Annapolis Circle, where the McDonald's is located, was cordoned off while police processed the scene but as of 7 a.m. it was reopened and customers were seen moving through the restaurant's drive-thru lanes.
Anyone with information on the armed robbery or who might be responsible is asked to call Plymouth Police.
