STACY, Minn. - A trio of White Bear Lake firefighters are walking from Duluth to White Bear Lake to raise money for an all-terrain vehicle.
The firefighters say the ATV would help save valuable time during ice rescues.
Organizer Jeff Loeks says they're amazed by the support they received along the way.
"(We) had hopes it would turn into something, (that) we'd raise enough money," Loeks said, "(We) never could have dreamed just how, money aside, how rewarding it's been."
The trio started the 150-mile trek on Friday. They made a stop at a fire station in Stacy on Monday to nurse some blisters.
The team planned to reach Forest Lake before stopping on Monday night. They hope to reach White Bear Lake on Tuesday.
