ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Two people got drunk and broke into St. Paul homes and stole bacon and ice cream bars, according to police.
Mijajean Jourdain and Michael Gavin were both recently charged in separate incidents for breaking into St. Paul homes and allegedly stealing food.
According to police, a St. Paul homeowner woke to a noise in her house around 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 29. When she went to investigate, she found a man lying on her sofa. The man left after the she ordered him out of the house.
Police later found the man and identified him as Michael Gavin, 25, of Maplewood. Police say they found food items, including a package of bacon, in the man's backpack.
According to police, the man stated he may have been at the wrong home,
but didn't remember anything because he has a drinking problem.
In a separate incident, a woman was charged for breaking into a St. Paul home on Oct. 26, and allegedly taking a box of ice cream bars.
The homeowner called police after he heard a window being broken. Police found the the alleged thief and identified her as Mijajean Jourdain, 22, of St. Paul.
According to police, Jourdain was very embarrassed by her behavior, and said she needs to stop drinking because she does crazy stuff when she gets drunk. She said she doesn't remember much about the night, but said the broken window explained why her hand had cuts all over it.
