MANKATO, Minn. -- Investigators are looking into the apparent drowning of a man in a swimming pool in Mankato Sunday night.
First responders were called to 141 Apache Place at 6:07 p.m., and on arrival they found yesterday. Upon arrival they found a man who had been pulled from the pool and was unresponsive. Those who had rescued him were performing CPR.
Emergency medical services and ambulance staff jumped in and continued resuscitation but the victim did not respond. He was later pronounced deceased.
The victim was identified Tuesday as 71-year-old Dewayne George Ludwig of Pelican Rapids.
The cause of death is thought to be drowning, but the medical examiners office will perform an autopsy. Police say no foul play is suspected.
