DULUTH, Minn. - A historic bed and breakfast in Duluth was named the best in the country by TripAdvisor on Wednesday.

The 10th annual Travelers Choice Awards listed the A.G. Thomson House as the best B&B and inn in the USA.  The winners are based on millions of customer reviews and opinions written by TripAdvisor travelers around the world.

The Thomson House was built in 1909 for William N. Ryerson.  It was designed by Minneapolis architect Edwin H. Hewitt.  Hewitt designed several well-known buildings in the Twin Cities including The Blake School, the Charles A. Pillsbury House, the Minneapolis Club, and the Hennepin Avenue Methodist Church.

The inn is named after Adam G. Thomson who was the second owner of the home. He bought it in 1918.
