ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Ramsey County Attorney's Office says a St. Paul man assaulted a 7-month-old boy and his mother, leaving both injured.
Prosecutors charged 54-year-old Tin Kyaw with one count each of terroristic threats, assault in the third-degree and malicious punishment of a child.
According to a criminal complaint, a pest control worker called police after meeting an injured woman he suspected was being assaulted.
St. Paul Police went to the home and eventually arrested Kyaw.
The injured woman cried out for the officers to look at her son who had marks on his head and face.
She told the officers that Kyaw wanted her to drink with him and when she declined he slammed her head into the wall and floor.
She also told police he strangled her and then stepped on the baby's head, threatening to crush it if she did not agree to drink with him.
The Ramsey County Attorney's Office says this case is "particularly disturbing" and they will pursue the case "vigorously."
