MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Orpheum Theatre is hoping you'll be their guest for the 2012-2013 season.
The Hennepin Theatre Trust, which runs the Orpheum, announced their next season Friday morning. It kicks off in October with the return of Disney's classic Beauty and the Beast. The musical originated its first national tour at the Orpheum Theatre in 1995. This year's production will be in Minneapolis for one week, from October 16-21.
Also sure to please Twin Cities audiences, the wildly popular Book of Mormon is coming to the Orpheum Theatre February 5-17, 2013. The musical comedy written by the creators of South Park, has won nine 2011 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
"This year's scope of productions delivers the unparalleled music and magic of the best in live theatre,"commented Hennepin Theatre Trust President/CEO Tom Hoch.
The 2012-2013 season also includes Catch Me If You Can, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Flashdance, Mary Poppins, and the Tony Award winning War Horse.
