RICE LAKE, Wis. -- A Rice Lake area teacher is being held in custody Friday evening on charges of sexual assault of a child by a school staff member.
On Friday, the Barron County Sheriff's Department arrested the 30-year-old Rice Lake Area School District teacher.
According to the initial investigation, it appears none of the alleged acts took place on school property.
The suspect is being held in the Barron County jail awaiting formal criminal charges by the Barron County District Attorney.
The investigation is on-going.
