MINNEAPOLIS - Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love was suspended for two games after an incident in Saturday night's game against the Houston Rockets at Target Center.

The league suspended Love without pay for "driving his foot into the upper body and face of the Houston Rockets' Luis Scola as Scola was lying on the floor."

Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations, made the announcement Monday morning.

The incident happened early in the third quarter Saturday night.

The Timberwolves won the game 100-91. Love had 25 points and 18 rebounds in the contest.

Love will miss games Tuesday (vs. Sacramento) and Wednesday (at Memphis). He will be eligible to return Friday night when the Wolves host Dallas at Target Center.
