Benefit planned to raise money for Lake City officer's children

ROCHESTER, Minn. - Family members of the Lake City police officer who died after being shot in the head are organizing a one-day music festival to raise money for his three young children.

Shawn Schneider was shot on Dec. 19 while responding to a domestic dispute in Lake City. He died 11 days later. He left behind three young children.

On Saturday, Feb. 18, more than 100 musicians will gather at the Mayo Civic Event Center in Rochester for more than eight hours of music.

The event starts at 3 p.m. and features music by Shawn Ogden & Bad Logic, Brandon Scott Sellner & The Austin Stranglers, the Moose Knuckle Brothers, Mick Sterling and many more.

Organizers say 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Schneider's children.

Donations will be accepted for admission.
