TERRA HAUTE, Ind. - Apparently, Denny Hecker's new prison home wasn't a good fit.
One day after being moved from the low security federal prison in Duluth to a medium security facility in Oxford, Wis. the disgraced auto dealer has apparently been relocated again.
The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) website lists Hecker as an inmate in Terre Haute, Indiana, a medium security facility that houses male inmates. There is also an adjacent satellite prison camp on the campus that houses minimum security male offenders.
U.S. Bureau of Prisons spokesman Chris Burke says he knows where Hecker will ultimately end up, but can't say.
The Star Tribune says some of Hecker's associates speculate he may have been abusing cell phone privileges. Hecker's attorney Brian Toder told KARE 11 earlier in the week that federal officials may suspect Hecker has a pile of money stashed and feel he is a flight risk.
Hecker pleaded guilty in 2010 to bankruptcy fraud and defrauding auto lenders out of millions of dollars.
Hecker had been serving his 10-year sentence for fraud at a minimum-security federal prison in Duluth.
