ST. PAUL, Minn.  --  The uncertainty surrounding the 934th Airlift Wing of the U.S. Air Force Reserve has some of its members worried.

Members like Captain Mike Zimm.

"We do a great job. A great job. It's hard right now," Zimm said.

As part of a plan to cut billions of dollars from defense the Pentagon has proposed taking the eight C130's away from the 934th and moving them elsewhere.

The concern that brings is very real; without the planes the 934th doesn't have a clear mission, according to its Colonel, Darrell Young.

"We are just taking information and trying to process it and see how we take care of our airmen," Col. Young said Friday.

More than 14-hundred people make up the 934th.

Some are reservists, some full time and some are civilian personnel.

Reservists in the unit, like Captain Zimm, are veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.

At least 80 airmen are deployed right now in the Middle East.

"We are a unit that does a fantastic job and we have proven it day in and day out all around the world," Capt. Zimm said.
