Wyatt Nordrum and James Leon Nordrum Jr.
DULUTH, Minn. - A crime alert has been issued for a missing 7-year-old boy who authorities believe was abducted by his father.
Wyatt Nordrum was supposed to be returned to court as ordered in St. Louis County Tuesday afternoon by his father, James Leon Nordrum Jr.
Police say Nordrum Jr. has past mental health issues and has indicated he would harm Wyatt if he lost custody.
Officials went to the home of Nordrum Jr. to locate the boy. Deputies went inside the home but it appeared Nordrum took clothing and fled. All known vehicles were still at the house.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Wyatt Nordrum or James Nordrum Jr. is asked to contact law enforcement by calling 911.
Initially authorities believed Nordum Jr. may be in the company of his father James Nordrum Sr., but as of Wednesday morning, Nordrum Sr. had been located.
