MINNEAPOLIS - Vikings fans poured into Mall of America Field Sunday with high hopes that the team can rebound from a disappointing 2011 season.

"I have them on a solid 8-8," said Bruce Devilliers from Minnetonka. "I'm a little worried about quarterback, he's a bit unproven."

It's the first, official game in which fans know that the Dome's days are numbered. A $975 million stadium is expected to open in time for the 2016 season.

"We're way overdue," said Tony Washa from Foley. "We've been season ticket holders for 15 years and we're really looking forward to that."

Vikings faithful enter a season with plenty of storylines. Everything from Adrian Peterson's health to Christian Ponder's development as a quarterback.

"It'll be interesting," says Greta Ferkel from Orlando. "We have to block for him and our receivers have to catch for him."

The home opener was sold out.
