PAYNESVILLE, Minn. - Investigators are probing a fire that led authorities to a burned-out mobile home in central Minnesota and a dead body that was discovered inside.
A motorist was driving by the 19500 block of 293rd Avenue in Paynesville Township shortly after 6 a.m. Monday, noticed flames leaping from the home and called 911.
Stearns County deputies and crews from the Paynesville Fire Department responded and found the mobile home engulfed in flames. After the fire were extinguished responders entered the trailer and found the body, which was sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
The state fire marshal's office is assisting in the investigation.
