MINNEAPOLIS - A four-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle in Minneapolis Sunday night.
Police department spokesman Sergeant Steve Mc Carty says the child ran out into the street near East 26th Street and 11th Avenue South around 7 p.m. and was struck by a passing motorist.
By the time officers arrived CPR was being performed on the child. He was rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) where his condition is unknown, but McCarty said the boy was in "pretty bad shape" when he left the scene.
The child's parents were nearby when the incident took place.
The 58-year old female driver who hit the boy stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
