MINNEAPOLIS - Police say they have located both a suspect and a vehicle in a weekend hit-and-run that claimed the life of a Twin Cities college student.

A Minneapolis Police spokesman confirmed the developments, but offered few details as to how and where the suspect was found.

Austin Conley, age 20, was struck by a vehicle at 3rd Street North and First Avenue in Minneapolis around 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

His friends say they were in Conley's car when someone apparently threw a rock and hit the vehicle. When Conley got out to see what happened he was struck by the hit-and-run driver, who sped off.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a dark four-door sedan, possibly a Chevy Lumina.

Conley was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.

The victim's 21-year-old sister Alissa says her brother was a deeply caring person who never judged others and was a working college student who held a job at Seven Sushi in downtown Minneapolis.

Crimestoppers had offered a reward for information leading to an arrest: At this time there is no word if the offer of a reward led to the suspect being identified.
