CHETEK, Wis. - Barron County sheriff's officials say they've arrested a driver they say is responsible for a crashing a pickup truck into a buggy and injuring five people before fleeing the scene.
Authorities say the driver was arrested Thursday. The hit-and-run crash happened about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday near Chetek. Deputies say two adults and three children are hospitalized. The Chippewa Herald says one person was flown to Eau Claire, two were sent to a hospital in Bloomer and two others to Barron.
