HUDSON, Wis. - When a race is razor-thin close, sometimes star power can be the boost a candidate needs.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was included in an all-star Republican lineup in Hudson Saturday evening. Giuliani, Norm Coleman, and Governor Scott Walker rallied supporters and volunteers to elect Tommy Thompson for U.S. Senator.
Thompson is in a race with Democrat Tammy Baldwin that could decide who has the power in the U.S. Senate.
"This is when you bring in the big names to rally your volunteers," said U of M political science professor Larry Jacobs. "You're hoping they work around the clock to turn out the vote and try to woo any undecided voters."
Across the state in Milwuakee, Baldwin spoke at a rally for President Obama. Both the President and Baldwin shared the stage with singer Katie Perry.
Minnesota will see big names on Sunday. Former President Clinton will speak in St. Cloud and V.P. candidate Paul Ryan will greet supporters at MSP airport.
