Moscow, ID (Sports Network) - Stephen Madison scored a game-high 21 points as
the Idaho Vandals captured a 73-66 win over the UC Davis Aggies in non-
conference play at the Cowan Spectrum.
Also scoring in double figures for the Vandals (2-4) were Kyle Barone and
Connor Hill with 12 and 11 points, respectively, the former also clearing
eight rebounds as the hosts snapped a two-game slide.
The Aggies (1-4) were paced by Corey Hawkins with 20 points and six assists,
while Ryan Sypkens dropped in 14 points and Ryan Howley came up a point shy of
a double-double as he pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds in the second
straight setback for the program.
UCD led by as many as five points early in the first half, but the team
connected on just 4-of-15 shots behind the three-point line in the period,
which allowed the hosts to move out to a 38-35 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Aggies again had their issues out on the perimeter (4-
of-13), as Idaho began to pull away by double digits and eventually posted the
seven-point win.
Idaho, which turned the ball over 18 times on the night, survived by
outscoring the visitors at the charity stripe, 26-8.
