Towson, MD (Sports Network) - Towson University will try to build off back-to-
back CAA Football championships in 2013 during a 12-game schedule announced
Saturday.
The Tigers, who will play five home games at Johnny Unitas Stadium, will
embark on a 12-game schedule for only the fourth time.
They will play four non-conference games before they begin defense of this
year's shared CAA title.
For the fifth time in the last six seasons, Towson will face an FBS opponent
in its season opener, traveling to Connecticut for a Thursday night opener on
Aug. 29.
The Tigers also will play road games at Holy Cross (Sept. 7) and North
Carolina Central (Sept. 21) sandwiched around their home opener against
Delaware State (Sept. 14).
Within the CAA, coach Rob Ambrose's squad will play home games against New
Hampshire (Oct. 5), Villanova (Oct. 12), Delaware (Nov. 2) and James Madison
(Nov. 23).
Towson will play road conference games at CAA newcomers Stony Brook (Sept. 28)
and Albany (Oct. 19) as well as Richmond (Oct. 26) and William & Mary (Nov.
16).
Towson had a 7-4 record, including 6-2 in the CAA, this season.
