Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - North Dakota State middle linebacker Grant Olson
is preparing to play in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game game
after being hospitalized earlier this week for complications with his appendix.
Olson, the team's leading tackler and junior captain, flew to Frisco on
Wednesday with the Bison, who will try to defend last year's national
championship against Sam Houston State on Saturday at FC Dallas Stadium.
Bison coach Craig Bohl told The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead, "I would say the
outlook is promising that he'll play." He also said physicians are "going
through a process to clear him."
On Sunday, Olson wrote on Twitter that he was asking for "any prayers for
healing and health."
Olson has registered 146 tackles this season and set a school-record with 29
total tackles in a quarterfinal-round playoff victory versus Wofford.
