ST. PAUL, Minn. - For the first time since the end of the lockout was announced, Minnesota Wild team executives stepped in front of TV cameras to begin the journey of repairing their relationship with the fans.
"We apologize for what happened and there is no excuses," said Matt Majka, the team's Chief Operating Officer. "But we're excited to be back."
Plenty of hockey hoopla is planned to welcome back fans including what the team is calling "Wild Wednesday" on January 16. The event will include a team scrimmage open to the public, food, and deals on merchandise.
"We received a lot of negative comments, but I'd rather have that than apathy," said Majka. "There were a lot of emotions, but we feel most of the fans will come back."
