Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Led by 16 points from TrayVonn Wright,
the North Dakota State Bison blitzed the IUPUI Jaguars, 78-40, in a Summit
League bout at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
For the Bison (16-3, 7-0 Summit), Lawrence Alexander added 11 points and
Jordan Aaberg chipped in with 10 off the bench.
Mitchell Patton led the Jaguars (6-15, 1-6) with a game-high 17 points.
The Bison came out strong to start the contest, connecting on 62.5 percent of
their field goal attempts, including 6-of-11 from beyond the 3-point arc.
NDSU scored the game's first 10 points and the last 14 of the half, as it led
comfortably at the break, 38-18. IUPUI was held to just 26.1 percent shooting
from the field in the half.
After intermission it was more of the same as the Bison continued to shoot
well, hitting 53.3 percent from the field and 6-of-12 from 3-point range. The
Jaguars continued to struggle, shooting just 36.4 percent from the field. The
Bison pushed their lead to as many as 43 points as they cruised to victory.
The Bison dominated down low, doubling up the Jaguars in the paint, 36-18.
NDSU had the edge on the boards as well, outrebounding IUPUI 35-22.
