Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - Connor Hill scored 19 points for the Idaho
Vandals as they defeated the Texas-Arlington Mavericks, 77-64, in a Western
Athletic Conference matchup at the College Park Center.
Hill was 7-of-9 from the field and 4-of-6 from beyond the arc for Idaho (7-10,
3-4 WAC), which ended its four-game losing streak. Kyle Barone put together a
solid double-double of 14 points and 18 rebounds while Stephen Madison scored
15 and Robert Harris added 10 on 4-of-6 shooting from the field.
Kevin Butler scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds for Texas-Arlington
(8-8, 3-4), which has now lost two in a row. Shaquille White-Miller added 10
points off the bench to be the only other Maverick in double-figure scoring.
Idaho led 34-30 at halftime after shooting 50.0 percent from the field in the
opening stanza. Texas-Alrington kept it close before the break by knocking
down 12 of its 28 shots from the field.
The Vandals shot a highly efficient 72.2 percent over the final 20 minutes to
extend their halftime lead. The Mavericks cooled off to hit only 33.3 percent
of their second half field goal tries including just 4-of-17 from beyond the
Idaho never trailed on the scoreboard and finished with a 38-26 edge in the
