Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Jonathan Lee recorded a game-high 17 points as
the Northeastern Huskies defeated the Drexel Dragons, 59-52, in Colonial
Athletic Association action at Matthews Arena.
Lee also recorded five rebounds and four assists in the Huskies (14-8, 9-1
CAA) victory. Joel Smith added 14 points and four boards but was the only
other player in double-figures as Northeastern won nine of its last ten
games.
For the Dragons (9-13, 5-5), Dartaye Ruffin recorded a double-double with 12
points and 11 rebounds. Derrick Thomas added a team-high 13 points and four
rebounds. Frantz Massenat contributed 10 points and four assists and Daryl
McCoy brought down 11 rebounds as Drexel lost a second consecutive game.
The first half ended with both teams tied 24-24. Northeastern was a perfect 7-
of-7 from the foul line and shot 47.1 percent from the field while Drexel hit
only 40.9 percent from the field but hit two triples to keep pace.
Northeastern made 14-of-16 from the free-throw line and 3-of-6 from long-
range in the second half. Drexel was held to 31.3 percent from the floor
including 4-of-11 from beyond the arc as the Huskies claimed the seven-point
victory.
Drexel committed 21 personal fouls allowing the Huskies to make 21-of-23 from
the foul line on the night.
