Waco, TX (Sports Network) - Isaiah Austin registered a double-double with 13
points and a game-high 13 rebounds as the Baylor Bears captured a resounding
75-48 win against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in a Big 12 affair at the Ferrell
Center.
Also posting a double-double for the Bears (15-8, 6-4 Big 12) as they snapped
a three-game slide was Cory Jefferson with 15 points and 10 boards, while
Pierre Jackson responded with 15 points and seven assists for the hosts as
well.
The Red Raiders (9-12, 2-8) failed to have a single player score in double
figures, with Jamal Williams ending up with eight points on just 3-of-11
shooting from the floor as the team lost a fourth straight and the eighth in
nine tries.
Texas Tech, which led by as many as three points about nine minutes into the
contest, shot a mere 9-of-29 (.310) from the floor in the first half,
resulting in a 37-25 deficit at the break.
In the second half the visitors made just eight field goals and converted
only 1-of-8 from beyond the arc as Baylor ran away with the win.
The Bears finished the meeting by forcing 17 turnovers and holding Tech to
only 3-of-15 shooting on the perimeter.
