Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Miles Cartwright scored a game-high 28
points as the Penn Quakers rolled over the Brown Bears, 71-48, in an Ivy
League contest at the Palestra.
Tony Hicks added 15 points for Penn (5-17, 2-3 Ivy League) which had lost
its previous two games.
Matt Sullivan netted 15 points, Sean McGonagill put in 12 points on 5-of-16
shooting and Rafael Maia had 10 points for Brown (8-12, 2-4) which has lost
three straight. Cedric Kuakumensah had just five points but blocked seven
shots.
At halftime Penn led by just a 28-25 score after shooting only 37.9 percent
from the floor. Though Brown shot 40 percent a 9-3 deficit from beyond the
arc kept the Quakers ahead.
After the intermission the Quakers heated up to 48 percent shooting,
including a 6-of-8 showing from 3-point range. The Bears couldn't keep up
as they shot 21.9 percent in the final 20 minutes.
Penn outscored Brown 27-6 from 3-point range and had a 44-35 edge in
rebounds.
