Richmond, KY (Sports Network) - Mike DiNunno tallied 21 points on 8-of-13
shooting from the field to lead the Eastern Kentucky Colonels to an 80-69 win
over the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in an Ohio Valley Conference bout at
Glenn Cosey chipped in 17 points for EKU (20-6, 9-3 OVC) while Eric Stutz and
Tarius Johnson finished with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Dennis Ogbe and Jud Dillard notched 17 points and eight rebounds apiece to
pace Tennessee Tech (9-15, 3-9), which has lost three of four. Jeremiah
Samarrippas added 15 points and a game-high seven assists.
The home team took care of the ball in the first half with just three
turnovers, however they only made 3-of-14 from long range and 40 percent
overall. Tennessee Tech was efficient at the free-throw line, making 8-of-9,
and held a 33-30 edge at intermission.
EKU dominated the second half by shooting 57.1 percent from the field and 5-
of-10 from behind the arc.
The Colonels improved to 69-56 all-time versus the Golden Eagles.
