Brookings, SD (Sports Network) - Nate Wolters led the way with 18 points as
the South Dakota State Jackrabbits blew out the IUPUI Jaguars, 82-45, in a
Summit League matchup at Frost Arena.
For the Jackrabbits (20-7, 11-3 Summit), Jordan Dykstra posted a double-double
with 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Chad While also added 14 points as he
made all four of his 3-point tries on the night.
Donovan Gibbs led the Jaguars (6-21, 1-12) with 16 points and six boards.
SDSU led 41-21 at the break after connecting on 54.5 percent from the field
and 7-of-14 from beyond the 3-point arc. The Jackrabbits held IUPUI to just
34.6 from the field and 1-of-7 from 3-point distance in the opening stanza.
In the second half the Jags continued to struggle, shooting just 37 percent
from the field. The Jackrabbits again knocked down their shots, hitting on
53.3 percent from the field and 4-of-8 from 3-point distance. The Jackrabbits
pushed their advantage to as many as 40 points in the second half, as they
cruised to victory, securing the team's school-record 29th consecutive home
win and second straight 20-win season.
The Jackrabbits dominated the boards, outrebounding the Jaguars, 40-21. They
also had a 22-9 edge in points off turnovers.
